Houston House Leveling
Fix sloping floors, sticking doors, and uneven foundation movement with a free Houston house leveling inspection.

House leveling in Houston starts with finding out why the floors moved. Sloping floors, sticking doors, and cracks near openings often point to foundation movement below the structure.
Houston clay swells when wet and shrinks when dry. That can pull one side of a home down while another area stays high. AAA Foundation Service has leveled more than 30,000 homes since 1955.
Our foundation repair Houston team inspects the home first, then explains whether leveling, stabilization, drainage work, or crawl-space repair makes sense.
Signs Your Houston Home May Need Leveling
- Floors slope toward one wall.
- Doors rub, drag, or stop latching.
- Cracks open above doors and windows.
- Trim separates from walls or ceilings.
- Brick cracks appear outside.
- Rooms feel bouncy or soft underfoot.
What Causes Uneven Floors
Most leveling problems come from uneven support. In slab homes, the soil under one part of the concrete may shrink or settle. In pier and beam homes, moisture, damaged wood, weak beams, or shifting support points can make floors dip or bounce.
Drainage matters. Water that sits beside the foundation keeps soil swollen. Long dry periods can pull moisture out of the clay. Both conditions can move a house.
Uneven settling is the part that causes damage. A house can often tolerate small uniform movement, but differential settlement happens when one side drops while another stays supported. That uneven movement is what makes doors, floors, framing, and brick start showing the strain.
Prevention starts with moving water away from the home. Soil should slope away from the foundation where possible, often about 1 inch over 4 to 6 feet. Gutters and downspouts should carry roof water away from the slab instead of dumping it beside the house. Chronic pooling may need deeper drainage help, such as deep wells in low spots or a French drain to carry slow-draining water away from the slab.
How We Level a House
We inspect the home, take floor readings, check drainage, and look for structural symptoms. If leveling is needed, we explain the support points, repair method, warranty, and schedule before work starts.
Some homes need slab support. Others need pier and beam correction, shimming, wood replacement, or crawl-space moisture control. The repair follows the structure, not a canned script.
Related Foundation Services
Slab foundation repair may be needed when concrete settlement is driving the floor slope. Pier and beam repair may be needed when the floor system below the home is weak, wet, or under-supported. A foundation inspection is the first step.
Uneven floors in Houston often trace back to expansive soil movement. Our guide to Houston black clay soil and foundations explains why the soil under one side of a home can move differently than the other. You can also compare foundation repair cost in Houston before planning the next step.
